Checkered Cake

Are you curious to make similar checkered cake? A checkerboard cake appeals to everyone, especially the little ones in your house. It looks tricky, but when you follow the steps it's as easy as making any other cake.

The design you see in the cake is from the alternate arrangement of chocolate and vanilla cake. All it takes is an extra time and effort to make homemade checkerboard cake.

What's different?
From the outside Checkered cake looks like any other cake. The beauty of this cake comes out when you slice it.  This cake gets the unique design from the chocolate and vanilla flavor. I'm sure it's all set to melt-in-your-mouth.

Here's the recipe for checkerboard Cake

Ingredient:
Striking Checkerboard Cake
  • Flour - 180gms
  • Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Butter -120 gms
  • Powdered sugar -180 gms
  • Eggs -3
  • Vanilla -1/2 tsp
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Warm milk - 1/3 cup
Method:
  1. Sieve flour, salt and baking powder
  2. Separate the eggs
  3. Beat egg white till stiff.
  4. Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy
  5. Add egg yolks and vanilla.
  6. Fold in flour.
  7. Add sufficient milk to bring the mixture to a dropping consistency.
  8. Divide into two and add  2 table spoon of coco powder dissolved in milk to one part.
  9. Mix well and fold in egg white to both.
  10. Take two 8" pan, grease and line it with butter paper
  11. Place two rings 6" and 3" and pour 2/3 of chocolate and vanilla mix alternately.
  12. Pour the remaining in the second pan.
  13. Remove the rings
  14. Bake at 180 degree for 15-20 mts in a pre heated oven
  15. Cool and slice the them
  16. Cover it with fudge icing.
