Millets Gluten free Idli

Ragi Idli
 
Typically we make idli in rice and udar dal. So, when my mom said that she's going to make ragi idli, I  wasn't convinced if it would work. However, when the idlies came out of the idli vessel, then there was no doubt that this recipe has proven beyond doubt. 

So, here's the recipe to all idli lovers to try it at home. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 Cup Urad Dal
  • 1 1/2 Cup rava 
  • 1 1/2 Cup Ragi
  • 1/2 Tsp Soda powder 
  • Salt as per taste

Method

  1. Grind urad dal to a fine paste 
  2. Next, add rava and ragi powder to the ground paste
  3. Add soda powder and keep it for 4 - 5 hours for fermentation
  4. Once it's fermented, it's ready for making idlies
  5. Add required salt and transfer to the idli cooker
