Though Scone originated from Scotland, it's a popular snack through out the world. Surprisingly Scone, is popular in St Andrews. I wonder who introduced Scone to this remote sea side town in Kerala. Do you have any answer to it?

Here's the vintage Scone recipe from St Andrews
Ingredients for Scone ( St Andrews recipe)
- Maida - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1 tsp
- Egg -1
- Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
- Salt - one pinch
- Water- 1 cup
- Baking powder -1/2 tsp
- Butter -2 tbsp
Steps to prepare Scone:
- Grind the grated Coconut.
- In a separate bowl, mix maida, baking powder, egg, water, sugar and salt
- Add the coconut paste and one table spoon of butter to the above mixture
- Heat the griddle (pan) spread the remaining butter in the pan
- Pour the batter in the pan and cover it with a lid
- Cook in sim for 5 min
- Flip it over and cook for another 5 min.
In seven steps, your first Scone is ready to serve. Have it hot with honey/ Jam/ cream/ butter.
